Prospecting for Planets
This program focuses on the search for planetary systems, as Bradford Smith of the University of Arizona and Richard Terrile of California's Jet Propulsion Laboratory scour the night sky for evidence of planetary systems from a remote observatory at the foot of the Andes. Both men are also active with the Voyager Imaging Team, a mission which spent more than a decade collecting data about the planets in our solar system. Caltech's Amelia Sargent, Cornell's Steve Beckwith and Harvard's David Latham also reveal their methods of searching for planets.
