Learn the Art of Bricklaying

This three-volume series uses step-by-step procedures to show you and/or your students how to develop the basic skills needed to be a mason. Part I discusses tools and materials needed in setting up a low budget work area. It shows how to mix lime mortar, which can be used over and over. Part II demonstrates the proper use of the trowel, spreading mortar, and laying brick to the line. Students are involved in actually building a 5' x 4' brick wall. Part II continues with proper technique, demonstrating laying concrete block, and has students build a combination brick and block wall. This comprehensive series provides nearly two hours of instruction of the basic skills needed to begin a career as a highly-skilled and well compensated craftsman.
