Guns: A Day in the Death of America

America's death toll from handguns is rising. This program uncovers the human realities behind the statistics, in a chilling account of all gun-related deaths that occurred on a randomly selected day, July 16, 1989. On that day 61 men, women and children were shot to death in murders, suicides, accidents, police actions and acts of self-defense. With 180 million guns in private hands (enough to put two firearms in every U.S. household) anyone is a potential victim.
