Living Portraits of Historic Women: Of All the Nerve!Actress Muriel Bach, a pioneer in performance art, has researched, written, staged and portrayed the lives of noteworthy women in the context of one-woman theater for the past 25 years. In this performance, she dramatizes turning points in the lives of seven historically important women. The willingness to take risk is the common thread between each historic figure. These women include: Maria Montessori-first woman doctor in Italy; Eleanor of Aquitaine-12th century Queen of France; Lydia Pinkham-author of the first sex education book; Gertrude Stein avant-garde writer and mold-breaker; Theda Bara-Vampire of the silent screen; Rosa Parks-mother of the Civil Rights Movement and Eleanor Roosevelt-humanitarian.
