Hasidim

The Hasidim are an extremely pious Jewish sect which originated in Russia in the middle 1700's. This video examines their group structure and ethic through the eyes of a young leader, and finds striking similarities to aspects of life in 18th-century America. A number of traditional Hasidic songs and dance tunes are incorporated in the sound-track.
