Battle of Britain

Winston Churchill after the English people repelled the furious and devastating bombings and burnings of the Nazi Luftwaffe. The gallant British held back the Nazi tide, resisting the German blitz. Over one year the English lost 40,000 lives, 50,000 wounded and still they persevered. This was the war of the man on the street and he helped defeat Hitler.
