John Marin's New York

John Marin is considered to be one of America's most important and original Modernist painters - blending elements of Impressionism, Cubism and Futurism to create his own, distinctly American style. Painting during a period of dramatic technological and social change (1910-1953), Marin captured the energy and excitement of the era in his on-going series of New York cityscapes. This series of over 80 paintings is showcased here, in Marin's only video.
