Paul Stankard: "Inventing Illusions"World renowned glass artist Paul Stankard employs the technique of lampworking to transform colored glass rods into magnificently precise wildflowers and insects. Finished pieces are then encased in crystal, as paperweights and larger botanicals. The tape follows the artist on his inspirational walks through the New Jersey Pine Barrens, and provides additional commentary by Ulysses Grant Dietz. Mr. Stankard's work is in the collection of the Smithsonian, the Metropolitan, the Louvre, and over 40 other museums and galleries worldwide. This is the full length version of the Public Television Program.
