Raku Ceramics

Raku, as practiced in the West today, invites experimentation while retaining much of the philosophical content rooted in 16th century Japan. This program assumes some basic pottery skills. Subjects include: Raku clay, hand and slab construction, slip painting, wheel throwing, manipulated shapes, glazing, kiln firing, and the unique smoking process. Instructed by Jim Romberg.
