In a classroom setting, gesture poses, along with two long poses, help to emphasize the importance of positive/negative space, rendering, proportion and mood in figure drawing. The artists use a variety of media, and demonstrate such interesting techniques as reduction, charcoal wash, and pastels. Historical and contemporary examples complement the demonstrations. A clothed model is used.
