Life Line - Preventing Elder Abuse

This year, an estimated 1 of every 20 persons over 65 years of age will be a victim of physical, psychological, or financial abuse or will suffer serious of life-threatening neglect (1.8 million elders nationally). It is estimated that only 1 in 14 incidents ever get reported. Most abuse goes undetected, the victim is not helped, and the abuser goes free to repeat the crime, often against the same victim!
