Handel's Messiah

Handel wrote the Messiah for a combination of winds and strings, not the large orchestras of the twentieth century. In this production, the London Baroque Players, the Cardiff Polyphonic Choir, and soloists Norma Burrowes, Helen Watts, Robert Tear, and Willard White, perform the Messiah to the original scoring. This performance provided a new musical experience when it was performed with original instruments as the highlight of the annual Cardiff Festival of Choirs.
