Metropolitan Opera star Renata Scotto is seen in one of the frequent recitals, this one taped in Tokyo in 1984. Miss Scotto sings music of Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, Liszt, Scarlatti, Mascagni, Handel and Respighi. The Washington Post describes her as "the greatest singing actress in the world."
