Birds and Wetlands
Wetlands are the heart of both forest and open country habitats. Large populations of diverse plants and animals including those that can be found no where else thrive in these beautiful places. Although often a harsh environment, the abundant wildlife activity proves how productive wetland areas are. This program provides a close look at some of the many birds and mammals that depend on these steadily declining natural ecosystems for survival. A few of the nesting water/marsh birds shown are Black Terns, Sora Rails, Coots, Grebes, Geese, Ducks, Red-winged and Yellow-headed Blackbirds. You will see birds that require a mixture of marsh, grass and woodland for their home territories and much more.
