Valley of Eagles

The prime gathering area is the 48,000 acre Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve near Haines, Alaska. The eagles gather primarily for the tremendous runs of chum salmon which begin spawning in late fall. Meet "Heally", a golden eagle that can never be returned to the wild because of his injuries. Now he is an ambassador, teaching school children about eagles. The tremendous efforts of the people of Alaska to save injured eagles and protect their habitat is being rewarded.
