People and Places of Mexico - Volume I

Dr. Merry, a practicing anthropologist/archaeologist starts this travelog on the "Zocalo", the main square in Mexico City with the cathedral, the presidential palace and the recently excavated ruins of the ancient Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan. From there he takes the viewer to the Plaza of Three Cultures and the shrine of the Virgin of Guadeloupe. The next scenes are in Chapultepec Park with Maximilian's castle and the fabulous Museum of Anthropology followed by the colorful university and the romantic canals of Xochimilco. Dr. Merry's passion for antiquity becomes apparent, when filming the awe-inspiring ruins of Teotihuacan, the Yucatan peninsula with the mysterious Mayan sites of Palenque, Uxmal and Chichen Itza.
