Geology of Devil's Tower National MonumentDevil's Tower is a steep sided mass of igneous rock that rises above the surrounding hills in Wyoming. This video will explore the tower and examine its geology and the sedimentary rocks which are found around it. Geologists believe that it formed when molten rock invaded the sedimentary rock and later cooled. Softer sediments were eroded to leave this 1,270 foot igneous tower.
