Multihull Fever

Primarily built in France, the boats featured in this video are huge catamarans and trimarans up to 85 feet in length that race across the open ocean at speeds of 35 to 40 knots. These sailboats are on the cutting edge of sailing speed and design, and not many people in the U.S. have had a chance to witness such spectacular sailing performance. Some of the scenes show racers sailing alone on wildly pitching gigantic craft. Other footage shows construction and launching, and also life glimpse at a new kind of sailing.
