Knit-Weave TechniqueUsing this fascinating process, you can knit colorful garments with added texture and color without lots of bobbins or floats across the back of the work. You do this be dropping stitches and then needleweaving on the "ladder" created by the dropped stitches. Its easy, and the results are spectacular! To learn the basic process you will work a small swatch. Then you will learn how to plan and design a garment of your favorite style, using this unusual process. Once you've competed your knit-weave pieces, its on to garment construction and finishing tips. In this technique, the pieces are knitted as rectangles and then cut and sewn together. You will need a sewing machine (with a zig zag stitch) or a serger to complete your sweater. It is assumed that you know basic knitting skills (cast-on, knit stockinette stitch, pick up stitches along the edge of rows and stitches, and bind-off). You don't do increasing or decreasing with this process.
