Marlon Brando

In 1947 Marlon Brando exploded on to Broadway with his portrayal of Stanley Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire." Three years later he made his screen debut in "The Men" with the same impact. For four successive years, Brando was nominated for an Academy Award as best actor. He quickly became a cult figure and cherished role model for the Beat Generation.
