Blueprints for Excellence: Clinical Practice Guidelines

More than ever before, health care professionals are moving to establish interdisciplinary guidelines for practice in all areas of patient care. The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) has been instrumental in developing effective guidelines for improving quality that are aimed at reducing unnecessary regional variations in care and procedure. The video shows nursing's role in developing the guidelines and how these are being used by nurses, other providers, and consumers in an array of clinical practice settings.
