Two Best Ways to Find a Job

Most of this program focuses on nontraditional job search methods, ones that find the 80%, or so, of all jobs that are not advertised. This introduces viewers to finding out about job openings through people they already know and by making direct contact with the employers. Viewers are shown: how to write a skills statement; how a network can get started from a single, informal meeting with a warm contact; how to expand a network and track its progress; how "networking" can lead to an interview; how to us the Yellow Pages to locate potential areas of employment; how to successfully reach the person who does the actual hiring; how a cold contact can lead to an interview, even when there are no positions open; and how following up with thank you notes can be advantageous.
