Southern Pacific's Central California Mainline

SP's busy San Juaquin Subdivision runs through the beautiful agricultural heartland of California's Central Valley. This important north-south route links Los Angeles to Portland, Oregon, and provides plenty of fantastic mainline train watching opportunities. You'll see the variety of trains that keep freight moving between these two vitally important shipping ports. From Bakersfield to Roseville, newer and older locomotives are seen working hard to keep the traffic flowing.
