Apollo Missions to the Moon 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17Project Apollo achieved the goals set by President Kennedy. Twice before the end of the decade man explored the moon. Those two landings and the four that followed in the early 70's gave Lunar scientists around the world a variety of sample material, photographs and elctronic data. Some of the findings included: a lunar history time scale; general agreement that "sea" regions are lava flow; that most of the craters are projectile impacts; support of conclusions that the moon has been inactive for the last 2 to 3 billion years; a stronger than expected and variable magnetic fields; a hotter than expected interior; distinct differentiation between the chemical composition of the moon and that of the earth. Seven tape set.
