Getting Ready to Read

Getting ready to read is fun to do with this delightful program. Big Bird answers amusing questions about reading on his reading hotline while Cookie Monster, Ernie, Bert and other friends from Sesame Street present stories, songs and rhymes designed to show children how words look and sound alike and how letters can be blended together to form words. Young readers learn word blending, rhyming, phonics and seeing a word as a chunk of meaning. Closed captioned for the hearing impaired.
