Week in the Life of a Chinese Student

Young students of the fourth class of grade one of the Number Two Junior Middle School of Beijing are featured in this documentary look at life in the People's Republic of China. The school day includes an early reading session, math and English lessons, student-led physical exercises, and a snack break. At home, children help with chores and do homework in the evening--no TV for middle school students until the weekend. Saturday is the last day in the six-day Chinese school week.
