Storybook Classics: The Emperor and the Nightingale

The Emperor and his court of ancient China are illustrated vividly in this Hans Christian Andersen story. The Emperor is given a gift of a mechanical singing bird, only later to learn that the genuine song of the real nightingale is truly the best of all. This lovely tale is elegantly presented by Glenn Close, with music by Mark Isham and Robert Van Nutt's vivid illustration.
