Carmanah/Grasslands

One of the most beautiful rainforests in the world, the Carmanah Valley on Vancouver Island, the children visit a research camp and climb a giant Sitka spruce tree. And, on a visit to a 900-acre research ranch nestled in the foothills of Alberta, Dr. Suzuki and the children meet a rancher who shows examples of both well-managed and over-grazed grassland, as well as the diversity of plant and wildlife that inhabit the praries.
