Traditional Japan - Volume IIDr. Merry and Telse walk the Tokkaido road, that once connected the ancient capitals of Tokyo and Kyoto. Here, they discover rock carvings of Buddha that are more than 1,500 years old. In Gifu they sail along with the Cormorant fishermen, who have been employed by the emperor for over 1,200 years. A calligrapher, a silkworm farmer and traditional dancers share their art with the Merrys. No trip to Japan would be complete without a visit to majestic Mt. Fuji. Swan shaped boats float on a nearby lake and Japanese cowboys not Samurai perform at the foot of Fujisan. The film ends with a visit to the giant Buddha at Kamakura.
