The sixth tape looks at alternatives to throwing: Another potter forms a bud vase around a paper-towel roll, and also alters a bowl at the leather-hard stage by carving the surface and cutting into the rim. A squared tray is constructed by draping a slab into a wooden frame, then decorated with impressing, slip trailing, carving, etc. Finally Carole shows how to form bowls by draping slabs into metal containers.
