Farewell to the Santa Fe

In 1995 the Burlington Northern Railroad merged with the Santa Fe Railway. The newly formed company, known as BNSF, began to mix locomotive fleets together in January 1996. This video features footage from the Mojave Desert between the Colorado River and the Barstow, Barstow to Mojave, Tehachapi, and the Bakersfield and Stockton Subdivisions between Bakersfield and Modesto in the San Joaquin Valley. Includes footage of a Loram rail grinder at work in the Mojave desert and snow falling on the Tehachapis.
