Artist Hope Barton guides the viewer through the Intaglio process of "Printmaking" and the steps necessary to complete a "single" plate etching. Barton shows how to prepare a zinc plate, applying hard ground, transferring a pencil sketch design on the zinc plate, how to stop out areas not to be etched by acid, using the acid bath, properly cleaning the plate, inking the finished etching and printing from the plate. In each segment, Bartion discusses techniques and tips she uses, materials, tools, and safety measures.
