Georgetown Loop RailroadLocated in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado, this railroad was built in the 1870's to serve the booming mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume. This narrow gauge line was an engineering wonder of its time, rising over six hundred feet between the two towns, making numerous sharp curves and actually looping over itself to negotiate the grade in a spectacular canyon. Includes a tour of the old Silver Plume mine.
