Illinois Railway Museum
First organized in 1941, the Illinois Railway Museum is the result of over fifty years of dedicated volunteer work. Today it is one of the largest and most popular railroading showcases in the nation. Located in Union, Illinois, the museum features over 300 different pieces of railroad equipment including nine steam locomotives. Visitors enjoy scenic rides through the countryside and see first hand the vital role railroads played in building Chicago and the nation.
